The Daily Drool: Danny Califf

9 May

I know some of you watishistas like your Drools less “pretty boy” and more “guy-down-the-pub-with-lotsa-hot-tats” so this one’s for you, ladies! Defender Danny captains and plays for MLS side Philadelphia Union. He’s represented the US at the U17, U20, U23 and senior levels.

Raul’s Next Move. Hmmm….

8 May

I just came upon a rather interesting article in the Philly Daily News about Raul and his future. Continue reading

The Daily Drool – MLS East: Chris Albright

22 Feb

Defender and Philly native Chris came back to his hometown team, the Philadelphia Union on February 13, 2012 signing as a free agent. He had previously played for DC United, Los Angeles Galaxy, New England Revolution and New York Red Bulls. He has represented the US at the U20, U23 and senior levels.

The Daily Drool – MLS West: Kyle Nakazawa

9 Feb

Midfielder Kyle currently plays for the LA Galaxy. So why is he wearing a Philadelphia Union kit? Well, he was just traded to LA a scant 8 days ago. As a native Californian, I’m sure that it wasn’t a hardship to head back home.  Kyle was part of the US U17 team that played in the 2005 FIFA U17 World Cup in Peru. He scored 2 goals.

The Daily Drool – MLS West: Andrew Jacobson

8 Feb

Midfielder Andrew has played for DC United, Philadelphia Union and currently, FC Dallas.  Andrew was also a member of the US National Futsal Team that competed in the 2008 FIFA Futsal World Cup in Brazil.

Adventures in Heat Stroke

25 Jul

I’m sure this brief round up will provoke the reaction “Aside from that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?” and for that I apologize in advance. I will say first and foremost, Non, je ne regrette rien – I’m glad I went to Philly and seeing my boo score his glorious goal about 50 feet in front of me was a thrill I’ll never forget.  And I got to have a wonderful time with my watishista! girls shiggers, J-9, DK, & Jess. So no matter what trials and tribulations happened, I am so damn glad I went on this road trip.

Boooo! No Open Practice in Philly!

12 Jul

Bah humbug! I contacted the Philadelphia Union to find out if there would be an open practice on Friday or Saturday before the game and got an email back this afternoon. Unfortunately, I was in a meeting at the time and loudly said “BUGGER!” and everyone turned to look at me. I made some sort of lame excuse that I’m sure didn’t fly as I was staring at my Blackberry at the time.

“Unfortunately, due to Real Madrid’s strict travel schedule there will not be an open practice prior to the match on July 23rd. Sorry for any inconvenience.”

Say it with me now: “BUGGER!”  I am highly inconvenienced by this! I think the whole team should make out with me and maybe, just maybe that would heal the pain.
