He just loves to drive the knife in, doesn’t he?  I’ll always think of him as ours, no matter  how irrational that is. Today ultimately ended up as Xabi’s (and Philipp Lahm’s) last appearance in European competition as they are both hanging up their boots at the end of the season. That game had some very questionable decisions by the referees (in both directions) but I think, in the end, we deserved the win over the two legs.  I’m sorry to see the back of two such wonderful players, but I’m not sorry we advanced.

How did this week fly by so quickly?! Seems like we just played like 2 days ago…oh wait, we did. Dang between Bayern and Barca this week, I feel like my head is going to explode. Also, the return of Xabi. ::sob::

G-Money, Jesé, The Baby and Isco #BeatTheBin

BT Sport posted this video of their #BeatTheBin Challenge.  It features ‘ballers Didier Drogba (looking very natty in his suit), Rio Ferdinand, Robin Van Persie, Robbie Savage, Philipp Lahm, David Luiz along with our own G-Money, Jesé, Varane and Isco trying to kick a soccer ball into a trash bin. Yep, that’s the challenge. Surprisingly not easy if this video is anything to go by.

Kramer Learns More About the World Cup Final

Most us remember the nasty head injury suffered by German player Christoph Kramer during the World Cup final. Kramer, however, remembers nothing other than what he has been told. So during an interview on the tv show “das aktuelle Sportstudio” Saturday, Kramer’s German NT mates Philipp Lahm, Thomas Müller, and Manuel Neuer decided to have a little fun and let us in on some of the comments Kramer made during the game. Who knew Müller had a sense of humour?

Armani Made to Measure for Bayern München

Armani announced a clothing partnership with Bayern München last May. And yesterday, Armani released a short behind-the-scenes video of the team photo shoot completed on August 25.

Lots of enjoyable, quick shots. Lewandowski offering a wink. Reina with his aviators. Robben looking nervous. Götze stroking Lahm’s tie. No Xabi though, as this was pre-transfer. The good ol’ days.

2013-14 UEFA Best Player in Europe Shortlist Announced

As a surprise to NO ONE, Cris has made the 3-player shortlist for the 2013/14 UEFA Best Player in Europe award. This is Cris’ fourth successive appearance on this list since the award was implemented for the 2010-11 season. James and Ángel made the top ten as well, finishing 7 and 9 in the voting respectively.
