I love these two. They’re trying to look all tough but mostly, they just look adorable. Doesn’t it look like Russell Brand and Kristen Bell in the car behind them? Have they accidentally stumbled into Forgetting Sarah Marshall?! Continue reading

Mazel Tov: Fabrice Muamba Released From Hospital

16 Apr

Bolton Wanderers has released this picture along with the news that Fabrice Muamba was released from the hospital today. This is just so wonderful, but also so bittersweet in light of Morosini’s death on Saturday. There’s been some updates on that. Livorno will retire his number 25 and Udinese will help financially support his sister through their foundation. As I mentioned yesterday, Udinese’s captain, Antonio Di Natale has become her guardian.

Our very best wishes as Muamba continues with his recovery. I’ll post updates on his condition as I hear about them.

Restoring My Faith In Humanity

15 Apr

On a day when some doucheweed morons who claim to be fans of Chelsea booed and jeered during the moment of silence for Piermario Morosini and the victims of Hillsborough, one man has restored my faith in humanity. Udinese captain and Drool alum Antonio Di Natale has announced that he will assume guardianship for the severely handicapped sister of Piermario Morosini. Continue reading

Updated: Rest In Peace: Piermario Morosini

14 Apr

Horrible news: Livorno midfielder (on loan from Udinese) Piermario Morosini collapsed during a match with Pescara. He never regained consciousness and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. He was 25. For everything that went right with Fabrice Muamba’s resuscitation attempts, it seems the opposite happened in this case (read the article for details).  It is an even more tragic story when you learn a bit about his personal life. Piermario was orphaned and had two disabled brothers, one of whom passed away last year. It sounds like so much sadness in a such a short life. In his career, Piermario played for, in addition to the previously mentioned teams, Vicenza, Bologna, Reggina and Padova. He represented Italy at the U17, U18, U19, U20 and U21 levels. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, teammates and those who loved him. Just heartbreaking.

Updated: This story gives more details – the earlier report of two brothers was incorrect. He is survived by an older sister.
