I’ve got a bit to catch up on. Getting home after 10 PM from work last night didn’t lend itself to posting. It did however feature ordering take out and falling asleep while eating said take out. It was one of those days.

Upcoming Match for Peace

Back in early August Lozil brought you news of the Pope organizing the Interreligious Match for Peace or Partita Per La Pace. The match is scheduled to be played on September 1 at Stadio Olympico in Rome at 8:45pm local time (10:45am EST).

Soccer lovin’ pontiff Pope Francis (seen here with a kit from the team he supports, San Lorenzo) has gathered together soccer stars past and present to play a match for peace between Israelis & Palestinians.

Center back Mauro plays for papal favorites San Lorenzo. A Rosario boy like Messi & Di Maria, he has represented Argentina at the U20 level. And much like Sergio Ramos, the man is obviously not afraid to rock color. Bless.

19 year old Argentinean midfielder Héctor plays for San Lorenzo, which as you may recall is the team Pope Francis supports. I love how this bebe is throwing some serious Blue Steel.
