We Did It

27 May

Oh my, oh my, I’m still feeling this way, three days later. What a freakin’ RIDE that match was. I’m pretty sure RM had us feeling every emotion known to man, during the course of those 120 or so minutes. Fear, sadness, anger, shock, hope, happiness, ecstasy, it was all that and thankfully not in the opposite order! We did it, we did it, we did it! It’s so good to be a Madridista.

Adios La Liga, Until Next Year

19 May

Adios to bromantic gestures like this one too? Say it ain’t so! The bromances are pretty much all I’m going to miss about La Liga for a while, especially after our last couple performances. It’ll be nice not having to stress over & calculate points/positions for a while, won’t it? Thank you boys for finishing off on a good note, with a WIN! Continue reading

Oh, La Liga *Sigh*

Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos reacts after missing a opportunity to score against Valladolid during their Spanish First Division soccer match at Zorrilla Stadium in Valladolid

Is it possible to be a hopeful and ever supportive fan while still hating all the “it’s still mathematically possible” talk? I actually wish it weren’t mathematically possible so we could focus 100% on the Champions League final. I want that. So can we just get all Queen Elsa on this bitch of a La Liga title race and LET IT GOOOOOOOOOOOO?

One Goal Closer

GAHHH! One nerve wracking semifinal match down, one more to go….except next week, the nerves and emotions will be even crazier! You’ve got to give it up for our boys though, they didn’t score as much as they could have, but they held Bayern well and prevented them from getting any precious away goals. Hey defense, can you say “On FIYAH“??

We….did….IT!!!!! Faq, it feels good to have a trophy again, doesn’t it?? I still don’t think it’s sunk in for me yet. Not that I didn’t think the boys could do it, they just stir up a whirlwind of emotions & it takes time for me to process all the cray! And by cray I mean watching the celebrations, anticipating a Copa accident, and then being slightly disappointed that the thing made it out alive… But shit….now that we have one, let’s go for a fuckin’ clean sweep. The treble, boys, THE TREBLE!

San Iker & San Baby Make Our Morning

17 Apr

10171868_768412903188937_5511748069925597691_nProud papi Iker posted this photo of Martin this morning with the caption “His first title. #sunshine” and Madridistas everywhere swooned. Look at Martin’s chubbles wubbles cheeks! He totally has his mami’s lips. I’ve noticed that in every picture. Anyhow, time to get my slightly hungover self to work. HALA MADRID! COPA DEL BEBE!

*Can you feel the loveeee tonight?* G-MONEY CAN.

Hell, I feel the love too and I hope our boys keep kicking ass so I can KEEP feeling it! I knew we had the goals in us, but I wasn’t exactly expecting a clean sheet, so that was a very pleasant surprise. Our San Iker led defense rocked it out, prevented Dortmund from getting any precious away goals, and this first leg clean sheet is going to help us greatly when we travel next week. We are making our way and shit is getting exciting!

Father’s Day in Madrid!

19 Mar

BjHLMqVIMAAejCQ

The best father/son duo in Madrid? I think that’s a title Marcelo & Enzo could easily nab. As it was Father’s Day in Spain today, many of our boys took to social media to express some major squee-inducing, heartfelt, papa & kiddo action. Some of the Papas were celebrating Father’s Day for the first time and some were celebrating as soon to be papas, but all of them equally adorable!

It Only Takes One

Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo hangs from the crossbar after missing an opportunity to score against Malaga during their Spanish First Division match in Malaga

In terms of points, we had a good weekend, holding onto our spot at the top. In terms of goals, it could’ve been a better weekend, but in the end we only needed the one. Cris scored the winner early on in the first half, but him and the boys weren’t necessarily disappointing for the rest of the match, they just delivered in other ways…. Continue reading
