Mazel Tov: Nico Luca Jones Is Born

4 Apr

I’m so very pleased to announce that Liverpool/Australia goalie Brad Jones & his partner Dani welcomed a new baby, Nico Luca Jones, today.

Brad and Dani lost their beautiful 5 year old son Luca in November after an 18 month battle with acute myeloid leukemia. I’m sure Luca is smiling down from above on his parents and his little sibling today. All our best to the family.

How You Can Help: Socceroo star Brad Jones’ plea for bone marrow donor for son Luca

10 Apr

Reading this story broke my heart. While the original article is for donors in West Australia, please know that the bone marrow donor registry is international. To register in the bone marrow registry in your country, do an Internet search for “bone marrow registry” and the name of the country in which you live. In many cases, you can register online, or you can obtain a list of addresses where you can sign up in person. In the US, go to http://www.marrow.org/ Little Luca’s last match came from Spain. Also, a big thumbs up to Liverpool for being so accommodating to Brad so he can spend more time with his son. Thanks to ONTD_Football for bringing this to the footy fandom’s attention.
