World Cup 2014 – Group H: South Korea’s Taeguk Warriors
16 Jun
I’ve been remiss about introducing the Taeguk Warriors but its not because I’m not fond of them. Growing up in Queens with a large South Korean population, I am hoping for a big surprise starring the South Koreans at this year’s World Cup. Its a tall order, to be sure, but that’s why we play the game! This will be their 8th consecutive World Cup Finals and they come into the Finals as AFC Group A runner up. Continue reading

USA! USA! USA!
20 JunSorry for the lack of updates today. Work has been…difficult. Anyhow, I’m off to see the USWNT play South Korea shortly with watishistas Shigs, forzasusan and J9. Totally psyched for the game and sorely in need of some girlfriends, footy & beer time after an awful hectic week. I’ll be the one in the USA shirt in the 7th row by the corner flag yelling “ABBBBBBBBBBBYYYYYY!” Look for me on TV. 😉

The Daily Drool: Cha Du-Ri
28 AugGerman born Korean right back Cha is making the move from Celtic to Fortuna Düsseldorf. He has been a member of the South Korean National Team since 2001. Cha always looks like he’s having so much fun in his pictures.
Fun fact: He comes from a footy background. His father is (the fabulously named) Cha Bum-Kun, a football manager who was a standout in the Bundesliga and the all time leading scorer for the South Korean National Team. He was voted Asia’s Player of the Century by IFFHS.
