Both Thailand and Chile head home after a solid Group F matchup

21 Jun

Entering into their final France 2019 match, Thailand already knew they were heading home. This was about putting in some final work to make their supporters and country proud. Chile knew that they could book the final third place slot in the Round of 16 with at least a three-goal victory margin. Both teams started the game with unwavering wide smiles; this was not to be the case by the end. Continue reading

Sweden sputters while Thailand redeems

Soccer Football – Women’s World Cup – Group F – Sweden v Thailand – Stade de Nice, Nice, France – June 16, 2019 Sweden’s Olivia Schough in action with Thailand’s Natthakarn Chinwong REUTERS/Eric Gaillard

This Sunday match-up was to be about both Sweden and Thailand showing me what they can do. Turns out, only Thailand could do it (and in spades!) as Sweden basically showed the same as before. Thailand win attention if not the match v the United States

The Daily Drool: 2015 WWC Group B: Thailand’s Sunisa Srangthaisong

12 Jun

Sunisa_Srangthaisong_227 year old defender Sunisa joined the Thailand Women’s National Team in 2009. She must be a tough cookie in that position because she’s only 5’3″. That said, I know some fierce women on the smaller side who could break my 6′ frame in half if they wanted to (::cough:: mygypsyspirit and Shigs::cough::) so I shouldn’t be so quick to raise an eyebrow.

2015 Women’s World Cup: Group B Contenders

1 Jun

051315-Soccer-Elloh-Angerer-Mjelde-Lunteren-split-pi-ssm.vadapt.955.high.0This group may be the most unbalanced of all. Two former World Cup holders vs two teams new to the international stage. This group is either going to be as predictable as it looks, or all hell is going to break loose. This is the World Cup after all; anything can and will happen. Continue reading
