The Daily Drool – Olympics Group G – United States: Crystal Dunn

20 Aug

Crystal DunnWell, the USWNT Olympic run certainly didn’t exactly end as I would have liked. (And don’t get me started on Hope Solo’s asshattery and poor sportsmanship. I’m so done with her. She needs to stop embarrassing herself and our country ::deep cleansing breaths:: ).

But let’s concentrate on this awesome young lady who I just know is going to do us proud in the years to come. Winger Crystal currently plays for the Washington Spirit. She has represented the US at the U17, U18, U20, Olympic and senior levels.

2015 WWC: Greatest Women’s Soccer Game Ever Played

19 Jun

image (1) *Sniff* No one wants to cry on a Friday night, and yet that is what I’m doing thanks to Cathal Kelly. The Globe and Mail writer recently published an oral history of the infamous semi-final game between Canada and the USA at the 2012 Olympics in London. Regardless of whether you fall squarely in the USA camp of what happened or the Canadian camp, this history is a MUST READ. Kelly terms the match “the greatest game of women’s soccer ever played.” After reading this fresh take on it, I am inclined to agree. For many, many, many reasons.
