The Daily Drool: Omar Gonzalez

Omar Gonzalez6’5″ defender Omar plays for the Los Angeles Galaxy. He has also represented the US at the U17, U18 and senior levels. In addition to wearing a hot pink headband yesterday in the Gold Cup final, he cemented his place in my heart when he carried my adored, injured Stu Holden onto the pitch.

I know some of you watishistas like your Drools less “pretty boy” and more “guy-down-the-pub-with-lotsa-hot-tats” so this one’s for you, ladies! Defender Danny captains and plays for MLS side Philadelphia Union. He’s represented the US at the U17, U20, U23 and senior levels.

The Daily Drool – MLS East: Kofi Sarkodie

Cutie defender Kofi signed with Houston Dynamo in 2011. He holds both a Ghanaian and US passport, so he is eligible to play for both countries. Thus far, he has represented the US at the U17 (at the 2007 Fifa U17 World Cup) and U2o level.  He’s definitely got that ‘baller finger signal thang down pat!

Well, well, well – looks like someone is trying to tread on El Pirata’s hipster/hobo fashion thang. Center back Neven plays for Borussia Dortmund. He was eligible to play for the United States, Serbia or Bosnia-Herzegovina. He played for the US U17 and U20 teams, but ultimately decided to join the Serbian National Team, making his debut in 2009.
