Y llegó el día… 29 de julio de 2018, un día que jamas olvidaré. La espera ha sido larga, muy muy larga. Han sido tan solo 9 meses pero para nosotros han sido como 3 años. No tengo palabras para darte las gracias Alice, gracias por hacerme el regalo más bonito e increíble del mundo. Cada día desde que te conozco doy gracias a Dios por haberte puesto en mi camino, eres l piedra angular de mi vida. Estos meses has luchado como una leona, no puedo estar más orgulloso de ti; noches en el hospital, días deshidratada, días enteros juntos en la cama sin poder ni movernos… pero al final llegó el día, llegó y todo mereció la pena. Bienvenidos al mundo Alessandro y Leonardo. Solo pido que tengáis salud y seáis felices con el amor que se respira en nuestra casa, en nuestra familia. Por último quiero agradecer a los doctores, de aquí y de allí que nos han ayudado en estos meses tan duros, y en especial a todos la gente que trabaja en el hospital dell’Angelo por su amabilidad y sensibilidad ❤️❤️👨‍👩‍👦‍👦🙏🙏🙏

Our King Muppet Baby and his wife Alice became the parents of twin boys yesterday in Venice after what sounds like a very difficult pregnancy. Congrats to the happy little family. Can’t wait to see more of little Alessandro and Leonardo!

The Only Constant Is Change

First off, I must thank the ever amazing hopechaser for single-handedly covering the World Cup and doing such a brilliant job at it. She is a true star and the best watishista correspondent that a girl could ask for. She’s been holding down the fort at a time where I’m just not capable of doing so and I am very grateful.

I’m not good with change and that’s an understatement. I’ve been going through massive change in my personal life which is why I haven’t been around this summer. While I feel that all the upheaval will ultimately be beneficial, it doesn’t make the process any easier. So when my team has been going through similar changes, it has been very difficult for me to write about. Continue reading →

Congratulations to Sergio & Cris on the birth of their daughter India yesterday. Welcome To The World Julia Granero Cocheteux!

It’s official! Pirata is a papi! He and his wife Marta welcomed a baby girl, Julia, a few days ago. Really wonderful news to end the year on. The notoriously private couple haven’t posted any pictures yet, but you know when/if they do that it will be something artsy, like a moody black and white shot of the baby’s finger or something. Marta did post some beautiful pregnancy shots though here and here. In fact, the only reason I heard about it is that Best of You Sports posted a congratulations to the happy family.

Congratulations to Esteban and Marta! With those parents, undoubtedly Julia will be gorgeous, smart and talented. (Wonder what Uncle Leiva got them for a baby present, eh mygypsyspirit?)

While I was off in LA, Benz posted a photo of his six month old son Ibrahim who is adorable and looks just like his old man. WHAT SON?! you may be saying (like me!), well, you know the son that was born on May 14 with his wife. WHAT WIFE?! you may be saying (much like me!) and the answer to that would be the gorgeous Cora Gauthier, who he has been dating since late 2015. They apparently married in secret. I was totally oblivious. I guess because this all came out right about the time we won La Liga and that’s all I was thinking about.  Congrats to Karim, Cora and big sister Melia.
