Glory Glory Lozil’s Dunzo!

I can’t believe it! I’M DONE! (Unless I tanked one of these classes and have to take it over, but heaven forbid) GRADUATE SCHOOL IS OVER! My graduation ceremony isn’t until mid-June, but classes are finally over. My presentation kinda sucked. Dropped and scrambled my notes midway through and rambled a bit, BUT SCREW IT, I’M DONE!

So here I am, sipping a glass of wine and relaxing. I just finished booking a flight to Bonaire and a hotel, so at the end of April, I’m heading off to spend 8 days swimming around a pristine coral reef checking out the fishies (I love to snorkel), lazing around in a hammock and exploring.  My long anticipated trip to Thailand had to be postponed because the elephant sanctuary I was going to volunteer at is booked up through October. Bugger! Anyhow, I’m really psyched to get away. It will be my first vacation since January of 2009. Much too long!

But most importantly, I have so many people to thank for getting me through this incredibly tough 2 years. Always, always, always JOD, Dollo, El Fano and CC who bring the love and support big time and have been doing it for many, many years.  My closest partner in this insane journey is Shiggers, who has been my biggest cheerleader – always around with a kick up the arse and a loving STFU whenever I lost my shit and starting thinking of giving up, that I was going to fail, etc.  The same must be said for the Brooklyn Sweaty Shanks Pena – DK, J9,  Jess, ginboonmiller along with my crazy pub owners B & J who keep me laughing and encouraged every week. My roomie Billina who has to deal with my nutso schedule and neverending freakouts about my GPA. And what can be said about my blog other half, Maisougio? She rocks like a hurricane and has made all of this so much fun. HB & HB started as a crackheaded plan that we thought would be fun to do doing our school break and look how it’s ended up!  Never expected that. I also must thank my dear Karo (kfunk22) who has listened to me whine, bitch and kvetch endlessly. She’s always sending “Go Lola Go!” notes and making me cackle like a fiend. And my darling kitten Max who thinks this is all bullshit and that he should be the center of my universe but still purrs for me and keeps me company while I work late into the night. I would not have kept my sanity without any of them.

And I can’t forget all of you. You’ve all been there with me every day as well through the past year or so. I can’t tell you how much all your kind notes have meant to me (when I had surgery, when my friend Bruce passed away, encouraging me through my thesis and final projects). Having this place to vent and be silly has been such a gift, you have no idea. A lot of folks ask how I manage to work full time, go to grad school full time and still do the blog. Well, the answer is that I love it. I can’t imagine what it would be like to stop doing HB & HB. Nor do I want to!

I am so fucking lucky to have so many great things and wonderful people in my life. So thank you, from the bottom of my heart,  for being a part of that.
