Ready For El Clasico

17 Dec

Well, hello there! I have barely had time to breathe, much less post about matches. I’ve tried to keep up as best I can, shoehorning recorded games in at odd hours. That’s going to happen again tomorrow since El Clasico is being played midday on a Wednesday. Urgh. Continue reading

Prepping for Leg 1 Of The CDR Clasico

So the next 4 weeks includes THREE Clasicos (Copa Del Rey & La Liga), a Champions League match vs. Ajax and two Liga matches vs. Girona and Levante, respectively. FUN! Continue reading

Watishing Into 2019

31 Dec

I honestly thought nothing could top 2017 for sheer fuckery. To that, 2018 said “Hold my beer.” Real Madrid-wise, there were highs (Decimotercera for one thing) and lows (the departures of Zizou and Cristiano, our current confusing form, etc.) but through all of it, we persevere. Continue reading

I Think We All Knew This Was Coming

30 Oct

I’m not going to say anything about El Clusterfuck because mygypsyspirit will be sharing her assessment. However, as far that performance, I think we all knew that Julen Lopetegui would be heading for the unemployment line this week. I’m not sure that instability is what the team needs right now, but I don’t write the paychecks so… Anyhow, here’s the official announcement. ESPN had an interesting take on the situation. Santiago Solari took over as interim manager today. Do you think the sacking is fair? Do you think Solari will be the permanent replacement? If not, who will come in? (Conte appears to have removed himself from the running). And will our team ever stop feeding the Drama Llama?

Ready Or Not, It’s Time For El Clasico

27 Oct

Greetings from rainy and cold NYC! El Clasico is upon us. I, for one, am super nervous. But then again, I’ve never gone into a Clasico calmly – have you? Continue reading

Prepping For El Clasico & Boss Babies

25 Oct

I’ve been focusing on letter writing to get out the vote for the midterm elections so that’s definitely cut down on my Real Madrid time. I did get to watch the Champions League match (while still writing) but it’s been hit or miss otherwise for the past few weeks.  But El Clasico is upon us and I’ve just posted my final bunch of letters so I’m taking a break from freaking out about the fuckery in my country to focus on freaking out about El Clasico. Ugh. Continue reading

Prep For Sevilla & Some Super Visitors

7 May

Man, that was a testy little Clasico, wasn’t it? But you can’t say that it wasn’t riveting.  I admit to getting pretty verklempt when Iniesta went off. I stood and applauded. Team loyalties aside, if you love football, you love Iniesta. How could you not? I will miss him. What a beautiful player. I’ll be sad to not see him regularly on my tv screen. Continue reading

As Ready As One Can Be

22 Dec

I personally am never ready for El Clasico, but I sure hope the boys are. Let’s end this year with a decisive win under our belts, shall we? Continue reading

El Clasico Prep Begins

19 Dec

Like it or not, the Clasico is fast approaching. Injury to insult, kick off is 7 AM here in NYC. The only other place I’ve ever watched a Clasico besides my home bar is the Bernabeu but this one, I’ll be sitting on my couch grumpily nursing a coffee. I may have to preemptively bake muffins for my neighbors because I will undoubtedly wake them up by shouting. Ugh. Continue reading
