…I just didn’t expect it to be Gareth. He’s off in California golfing and signing giveaway shirts. As you do. ( BTW, thanks to the multitude of people who sent these pix in.)
He walks a lonely road, this young man brave enough to take on the challenge when others are deserting The Way of The Headband. When Edith discarded his in the post- Champions League euphoria , G-Money was quick to pick up the fallen, forlorn headband and embrace his destiny. GO FORTH, HEADBAND WARRIOR AND CONQUER! IT WILL NOT BE EASY, BUT HB & HB IS BEHIND YOU ALL THE WAY! (AND YES, THOSE ARE OUR HANDS BEING INAPPROPRIATE BACK THERE. SORRY.)
Admittedly, it looks kinda dorky, but I find it endearing because: headband. Also, I think it’s sweet that he’s trying to find a “thing” that’s his alone and not Cristiano’s. Or perhaps he’s just sweating balls out on the golf course and wants to keep his hair out of his eyes. YMMV, but you know what answer we’re going with.

“Sweating balls”… He’s definitely not sweating balls in Monterey. This time of year it’s still probably only 70 degrees at Pebble Beach and Spyglass. Ah how I miss that place. I wonder if he took part in the many fine clubs that Monterey has to offer… Like The Mucky Duck where you can spot celebs like Peyton and Eli Manning (yes, I know this from experience)
What say you, Mandi? LOL
I miss the headbands as much as anybody but I just can’t condone this use of one. A for effort though, Gareth.
Bless him. He’s trying. I’m sure Cris will break him of the habit as soon as he returns to Madrid.
Marking possibly the first time one of our player’s fashion choices could improve thanks to guidance from one of our other players (Xabi Alonso excepted.)
But with our luck, he’ll just gently guide him towards the big ass Gucci belt buckle club.
I don’t think this is the same kind of headbands that players use when playing football, but here you go! He sports the same thing also in a BT Sport ad.
