Javier Hernandez was interviewed on the El Chiringuito show back in early September, and, thankfully, someone has kindly translated and added English subtitles to the video. I quite enjoyed the interview, though they really didn’t need to bring out every pundit they could to pepper him with questions.
Hearing how he thought about retiring when he was 21 because he wasn’t getting any chances to start games was a revelation. Seems the “super sub” role is not new, as I thought it was. Luckily his family convinced him to stick with it. A few other points of possible interest: he’s never had an alcohol, does sing sometimes, and cannot arch his eyebrows like Ancelotti. Yeah, the interview was all over the place. Even Guti and David De Gea make appearances (part 3).
