Pipita In An Eye Patch? Maggio As The Mad Hatter? Must Be The SSC Napoli 2016 Calendar.

19 Oct

::sings:: These are a few of my favorite things! Bless Napoli, they always know how to cheer me up with their bonkers annual calendar and this year is no exception.

I wasn’t sure how they could top (ahem) 2014’s Sushi!Pipita or 2015’s Bondage!Pipita, but they just might have done it. I saw the eye patch and immediately squealed “PIRATE! PIPITA!”) However, as our good friend watishista/Napoli fan extraordinare Maria Rosaria pointed out, he’s in a suit and looks more like a gangster. That also works for me (but feel free to use my pirate theme next year, Napoli).

This year has a confusing mishmash of themes: Mobsters, mad hatters, gelato eating, I think Napolean and erm, a violin? Maybe Amadeus? I got nothin’ to be honest. I asked Maria Rosaria what gives and she said “it is difficult to explain, it derives from a tradition where we use numbers to interpret reality (and try luck at the lottery)” Okay, I’ll have to trust her on that, but I can’t WAIT to see the calendar no matter what the theme. They haven’t disappointed me yet.

Here’s some behind the scenes shots. Chori looks as confused about this as I do.

Luckily for us, Napoli loves to post all sorts of behind the scenes goodies so we have that to look forward to. In the meantime, here’s a wee video selfie with our beloved Calleti & Chori from a few months ago. I miss these goofballs.

Oh my dear lord. I was about to comment on how much I love Pepe Reina as a gangster when I saw Hamsik. That. Is. Glorious.
