Bits & Bobs: Schmoopfest, Vegas, Miami, Thailand, Poznan & PMS

Guti and Romina are apparently not in the same city right now, which cues endless schmoopy messages of love back and forth on Twitter. Gutes posted this piccy. They’re calling each other ‘mommy’ and ‘daddy,’ people. I may not survive this pregnancy.

So, on to Las Vegas. After the horror of Kaka & Carol at a UFC cage fight, what new terrors could they planning to foist on us? Well, according to Carol’s Instragram, the following:

Seriously, those three pictures pretty much sum up how I imagined that they rolled, not UFC fights, but Celine Dion? Oy. They loved her, by the way. OF COURSE THEY DID! Shigs will take this as one more sign of Kaka’s incipient serial killer status.

Remember how we thought it might be Samir Nasri in those shots with Mesut? Well, I guess it was because here he is in Vegas with what looks like a lot more woman that he can handle. Okay, then.

Cristiano tweeted this beautiful shot of Thailand. He and Irina arrived there on Saturday.

Their arrival was rainy and clogged with paparazzi. Poor kids. It’s constant for them. Looks like they have gotten themselves to a place where they can chill now though.

The Irish fans were one of the major highlights of Euro 2012, IMHO. The city of Poznan, Poland thought so too and the mayor put up this great sign thanking the fans.

And finally, if you’re a lady athlete at the Olympics best hope you don’t have nasty PMS. Poor Hope Solo was on pre-menstrual medication prescribed by her personal doctor which made for a positive result on an out-of-competition drug test on June 15.  The press release says “Solo was taking a prescribed medication, in a therapeutic dose under the care of a physician. The medication when metabolized resulted in the adverse analytical finding.” Hope fully cooperated with the USADA (US Anti-Doping Agency), was cleared of using it to enhance performance and accepted a public warning for the rule violation. You can read all about it here.  I’m so glad I’m not a top flight athlete. They’ll take my PMS medicine from me when they pry it from my cold, dead fingers and they’re gonna need to be prepared for quite a fight beforehand.
