First Training Of The Week & A Visit From The Eternal Captain

27 Aug

Satellite (11)If the rumors of Xabi leaving for Bayern Munich are true, I’m going to go into a mourning period beyond that of when Mesut took off for Arsenal and I was nearly inconsolable for a month. Xabi, listen, I’m fulfilling a life long dream of seeing Kate Bush live next week. DO. NOT. HARSH. MY. ETHEREAL. KATE. MELLOW.

So yes, my crazy ass is flying to London for a long weekend with my bestie to see the Almighty Bush emote all over the place. I cannot wait. We’re both obsessed with her.  Mygypsyspirit can attest to the absolute meltdown I had from my bed in San Sebastian during a thunderous hail storm as I was constantly refreshing the page during the pre-sale trying to get tickets and shrieking like a fiend. Ahem. Anyhow, yeah, the team, I’ll get back to talking about the team.

The players had their first training session of the week which will see them face Real Sociedad (with Pirata & Jailbait!) at Anoeta on Sunday. Fabio trained on his own as he recovers from his injury.

There was a special guest at training today. Our beloved former capi, Raul, stopped by for a visit.

"Yeah, being the captain kind sucks sometimes, doesn't it? I hear you, dude!"

“Yeah, being the captain kind sucks sometimes, doesn’t it? I hear you, dude!” SUBTEXT: “Glad I don’t have to deal with this shit anymore”

"Know what sucks more? Being the team scapegoat." "No shit."

“Know what sucks more? Being the team scapegoat.” “No shit. FML.”

"Don't look at his diaper. Don't look at his..."

“Don’t look at his diaper. Don’t look at his diaper. Don’t look at his…”

"See, now these are more reasonable shorts, Sese."

“See, now these are more reasonable shorts, Sese.”

"Wait, didn't I play against you in Germany?!"

“Wait, don’t I know you from Germany?! What are you doing here?”

"Good luck to you Carletto, it's like herding Gucci clad cats. Trust me."

“Good luck to you Carlo, it’s like herding Gucci clad cats. Trust me.”

"Okay everyone, chuckle warmly for the cameras. Except you, Carlo, you can look stern."

“OK y’all, chuckle warmly for the cameras. Except you, Carlo, you can look stern.”

And then, because he knows how much the ‘Peez likes new shiny things, Cristiano presented Florentino with a replica of his most recent Ballon D’Or in the desperate hope that it would keep our president’s attention until the transfer window closes so we don’t buy another midfielder (or sell someone else vital).

Satellite (1)The plaque’s inscription reads ““To Florentino Pérez. With all my affection. Cristiano Ronaldo” Bless you for your heroic sacrifice, Cristiano.

– Lozil (listening to The Ninth Wave as I type. KAAAAAATE! Ahem. Sorry.)

I wasn’t sure what was going on from your room during that hailstorm. All I knew was that I was in San Sebastian, staring at what I didn’t know was a creepy amusement park from hell, and it was pounding hail. And I was hungry!

I will ugly cry like no other if Xabi really goes. UGLY. CRY. DO YOU WANT TO SEE THAT XABI? YOU SICK BASTARD! I still love you ginger beard!

I’m afraid that rumours about Xabi are true =( I have heard that he is currently undergoing medical check in Bayern 😦

I’m afraid that I am losing all my emotional commitment to Real Madrid. It really started with Özil. But it is normal that players come and go, and the team is always the first I thought. This year when D. Lopez had to go, weeks after he had said that he will not leave unless he is kicked out, I knew something bad is happening in the team. Something very unfair. And now Xabi goes, and I am not sure if I can anymore support Madrid after that. Arbeloa is the next, I think. Then all supporters of Mourinho are succesfully cleared from the team.

During Cordoba match I also noticed the sad or frustrated facial expressions of Ancelotti and many players, especially veteran ones. Something very strange is going on in the club, I think…

If this Xabi move goes through there better be some bloody good Oktoberfest pictures coming out of it, nothing else is going to console me,

Xabi does go, Bayern has made it official already. And they say that Arbeloa is going to Arsenal. Two of my personal favourites and true madridistas. Strange…

I really hope all of this has a negative impact on the stability of the team (we’re unstable enough as it is) but I agree that something is very strange about all the mou supporters and veterans leaving or being pushed out. I don’t wanna wait another twelve years for another champions league tittle or any title for that matter.
