Skydiving, Butt Cheek, and the Smiley Crew

Iker Casillas Attends the Opening of Sports BarI’ve got a bunch of random goodies for you, but let’s get the ugly out of the way first. Earlier this week, news broke that the Spanish Football Federation notified Real Madrid of a possible three-month ban for Castilla “official” head coach Santiago Sánchez Martín and “unofficial” head coach Zidane.

This proposal stemmed from a review of evidence presented to the Coaches’ Committee that Zizou is acting as the head coach for Castilla, not Sánchez, without the relevant coaching badges. The club has until early next week to present a defense to the committee in response to the proposal.

That defense should be interesting. To a degree, the club brought this controversy on themselves; they hyped Zizou as being the head coach and pay him like one so only natural someone would check up on his credentials. I’m thinking some kind of punishment is going to happen, but can’t see it being a three-month ban for both coaches though.

And what does one do when faced with the prospect of being banned from coaching for three months? If you’re Zizou, you go skydiving with your kids!

Kroos was interviewed by German newspaper Die Welt on the typical (read: stale) football topics. Just in case you were wondering, he reiterates moving to Real Madrid was the right decision and that the team spirit is magnificient. Someone has digested the PR manifesto well.

Shout-out to Poland NT player Grzegorz Wojtkowiak for getting his grab on with Toni and providing us with a glimpse of naked butt cheek during the Germany vs Poland match.tumblr_ndd3m5FAyJ1te9jx5o1_500tumblr_ndd3m5FAyJ1te9jx5o2_500So, do you think that was a really strong grab or does Toni go commando?

Reggaeton singer/songwriter Nicky Jam visited the team on Friday, where he proceeded to hang out with the smile crew, sing a little with Marcelo, and ride along with James.

He’s a mensch, that James. After warming up for the Colombia vs El Salvador match, he spotted young fan Christopher Alvarez in the stands and went over to greet him.

Ahhh, a little kiss on the head too. The two managed to connect either before or after the game as well (not quite sure which), with James sharing this photo on Instagram with the following caption: “You’re an amazing person Cristopher. Always with a smile, you show happiness, love, joy. God bless you always”

James’ smile buddy Keylor Navas was bestowed the honour of being chosen by UNICEF as one of 25 spokespeople from Latin America and the Carribean for a campaign for the rights of children. The campaign is to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Congratulations Keylor!

Not quite as obviously heartwarming, Iker attended the opening of the first Mahou San Miguel sponsored ‘Sports Bar’ at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport. Part of his duties–besides providing us with these awesome facial expressions–was to answer questions about his Canal+ interview.

"Haha, all good thus far."

“Haha, all good thus far.”

"You are deserving of my Death Stare."

“You are deserving of my Death Stare.”

"Who let this fool in here?"

“Who let this fool in here?”

"What do you mean I have to pay for my drinks?"

“What do you mean I have to pay for my drinks?”

Which one do you think went with his “I’m not immortal” comment?

Bayern posted a mini-interview with Xabi about his first few weeks at the club. Sorry (not sorry) for those still hurting from his move.

Take some pity on him. He has to work everyday with these two dorks, Neuer and Müller:

And to round out all this late night randomness, I tweeted this video earlier in the week and am including here because I feel everyone should enjoy the glorious chaos that is Podolski and Cazorla: Football Commentators.
